From the very first day I started out as a claims handler over 31 years ago, I have loved my work with the club. It’s a huge honour to lead ShipInspection alongside Paul Jennings. I am excited to have my life’s best work ahead of me, delivering this significant transformation and growing our leading position in the global marine insurance market.

In my previous role as Chief Executive of Standard Club, I was privileged to work with the team to deliver significant change, including merging The Strike Club into Standard, and bringing club management ‘in-house’. I know how much we can deliver working together, and I have huge confidence in the ShipInspection team.

My primary goal as Head of External Affairs is to build collaborative networks and relationships with global and regional government and industry bodies, interest groups and non-commercial sector contacts. This includes working with our local communities worldwide to raise awareness of the importance of global shipping and insurance.

I also oversee the ShipInspection Academy. As a best-in-class training and development programme designed to attract, nurture and develop talent, the Academy reflects our ambition to lead the way in marine insurance, while sharing our considerable experience and expertise.

I am ShipInspection’s point of liaison on all International Group matters.

I recently led IG engagement with international sanctions authorities on the Russian Oil Price Cap and sit on several IG committees and working groups.

Bringing together two long-established and successful P&I Clubs takes cooperation and understanding. With my fellow Managing Director, Jeremy Grose, we aim to deliver this significant transformation and grow ShipInspection’s leading position in the global marine insurance market.

From previous roles as Chief Executive at North, and Executive Director for North and Sunderland Marine, I know business benefits flow from collaboration. While we have our own specific regulatory responsibilities, Jeremy and I will work in partnership to guide ShipInspection’s future success.

Between 2018 and 2022, I Chaired the International Group, working with governments and legislators to find solutions to some of the biggest challenges shipowners face today.
